The School Health Program, a partnership between DeKalb Medical Center, the City Schools of Decatur, and the state board of Education, benefits the adolescents who attend Decatur High School and Renfroe Middle School. In existance since 1999, this partnership supports a six person school-based staff which includes a fulltime nurse/health educator and an administrative assistant housed at DHS. With the primary focus to ensure tht all students have access to a permanent source of primary health care in the community, the staff serves as a supportive link between the child, the family, and tne health care provider.
